Interesting title ..... is that a literal implication, or are we supposed to read between the lines? Sam has already been diverted slightly off-course ..... I mean, he's back on the Righteous side, for now at least. But Sam is a man of many missions ... first he was consumed by this burning desire to find John. Once found he then transfered that obsession on to finding and killing YED ... and after that he fixed his focus onto Lilith.... and look where that led to!!! .......
*Does anyone else think that Sam has OCD? *
....... now he has his sights set on killing Lucifer. All that anger and rage .... it'll be like a Full English Breakfast for the Devil if he succeeds in 'turning' Sam ....
Brad, where are you Dude, you are a man of many theories .... share them with me please :bnews:

It's a play on the movie title 'Girl, Interrupted.' They're going to a mental institution, and the movie revolved around a girl in a mental institution.

Ahhh now I get it. Then this title is a bit too subtle for me
Thanks for explaining it .... :thumb:

Lynda -

Sorry for the delay... I saw this post and then couldn't find it again.

First of all, I'm also thinking that Sam should probably me on meds for OCD :P

I did get the 'Girl, Interrupted' reference... but aside from that your comments got me to thinking about where the Winchester brothers have been and where they are going on their journey through the four plus seasons we've been blessed with so far. You are spot on in how Sam has behaved so far, and I think he's finally starting to realize the consequences of his behavior, particularly when it comes to his relationship with Dean. I hope he's learned his lesson and won't behave that way again or will at least recognize his tendencies when they rear their ugly little head when it comes to Lucifer. :xchg:

I'm going to speculate some here, even though this isn't the particular spot in the forums for it, but it's related to my comments above so hopefully it will be ok. I think that Sam and Dean have both matured in so many ways since the first season. Even if it didn't start out that way in the story it fits perfectly if the writers choose to take this direction - the path that Sam and Dean have been down and are still headed down (what Zachariah and Gabriel have called their 'Fate') is not pre-destined. I think that by exerting their free will and refusing to accept the cosmic roles the angels and Lucifer keep trying to force them to accept is part of how and why they will figure a way out of the Apocalypse (or at least around it). I think God left out some subchapters that the angels and Lucifer aren't privy too... and I'm hoping that Chuck will play a part in that :bnews:

The idea that free will is the key to succeeding has been used lots of times in grand themes (like Frodo in the Lord of the Rings or Darien in the Fionavar Tapestry are too examples). I'd like to think that it holds true in Supernatural as well.

Ok I'm going to go post in the speculation thread now on something else ...

dean's hannibal impersonation was hilarious!

"PUDDIIIIING!!!" what a...i can't even come up with a word to describe dean right now.

"boop!"

dean walking, trying not to step on the cracks. i'm pretty sure he could've walked normally. also, his mom's dead. no need to avoid the cracks.

i knew them telling people the truth about being hunters was gonna backfire!

dean looked like he was gagging when broke off the wraith's...uh...whatever it was. spike...thingy?

how were they just able to run out of there? major security problems.

I only got bits and pieces of this the first time around because I was sick and it got all jumbled up in my head. So I kept hearing about PUDDING but had no clue what that was about. I did see the Boop part. Stoned!Sam was great.
Then I finally got to see the complete episode and I loved it.
Great episode, great end to the hellatus, but this one will forever be known for PUDDING! and BOOP!.

I can't believe I forgot to post about this episode days ago!!!
Suffice it to say, I totally lovedthis one :thumb:
It had all the necessary ingredients for an Awesome 45 mins of humour, scareyness and 'WTH!!' reactions in equal proportions.
When Dean dropped his trousers and threw his hands in the air ...... I nearly peed my pants!
and his Lecter impersonation .......

and Stef, Yeah, Dean did gag when the Rafe's wrist horn thingy was snapped off ..... it was subtle, but definately there :D

and yes, LYNDA was right of Sam being OCD, even he thinks so right now!
Loved the episode!
